RENO, Nev. (Feb. 9, 2017) – Renown Regional Medical Center is in elite company as it receives accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) in cardiac electrophysiology. Renown Regional is just the fifth healthcare facility in the United States and the first and only hospital in the Silver State to receive this recognition.

Cardiac electrophysiology procedures are performed at hospitals specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. These procedures help relieve symptoms and regulate heart rate and rhythms.

Precise diagnostic testing and therapeutic procedures performed by highly skilled healthcare professionals are a key part of heart rhythm treatment. To receive this accreditation, hospitals must show consistent quality care and dedication to continuous improvements through their care providers, equipment and quality assessment measures.

Renown Regional Medical Center has been granted accreditation by the IAC in the areas of heart rhythm testing as well as ablation treatment. Renown Regional was also accredited in implantation and removal of devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators.
