Heart disease often runs in families but can be prevented and managed through a healthy lifestyle. With the support of family and friends it’s easier to stay on track by eating nutritious food, getting outside and exercising, and managing your stress.
More than 17 million lives are claimed by heart disease each year and that number is expected to grow to more than 23.6 million deaths per year by 2030. These startling statistics are just one of the many reasons why everyone needs to take care of their heart day in and day out.
Renown is committed to making a genuine difference in the health and well-being of the people and communities it serves. This annual luncheon is just one example of that commitment.
This year’s Save Your Heart Luncheon will focus on simple steps you can take today, along with lessons for younger generations, to prevent heart disease. The lecture will also offer a roadmap for a healthier heart based on your age, family history, nutrition and lifestyle. Christopher Rowan, M.D., cardiologist with Renown Institute for Heart & Vascular Health, will lead the discussion.
The luncheon is happening at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, 3800 South Virginia Street, on Tuesday, Feb. 16, from noon to 1 p.m. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
The luncheon is open to the public. Cost is $10 and includes a heart-healthy lunch. To RSVP, call 775-982-5400.
