Renown has eight IBCLC certified care members on its team who focus on preventive care so they are available during pregnancy to assess the mother and provide information on how to successfully initiate breastfeeding. They continue that assistance after the baby is born by helping mothers returning to work or school, or by helping mothers in more unusual situations, such as breastfeeding more than one baby or nursing a sick or premature infant. These care members also help educate nursing staff on how to manage basic breastfeeding care.
“Earning this recognition reaffirms our long-standing dedication to helping protect, promote and support breastfeeding,” said Robin Hollen, RN, IBCLC, lactation consultant at Renown. “Our goal is to ensure our patients are receiving expert lactation care by helping them overcome breastfeeding challenges, providing accurate information, and continuing to support them as their baby grows.”
The IBCLC Care Award is jointly sponsored by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® (IBLCE®) and International Lactation Consultant Association® (ILCA®).
