Services include physical exams, nutrition education and supervised exercise specific to patient needs

Renown Health’s Wellness Network is focused on just that – improving wellness for patients. That is why these services at Renown South Meadows Medical Center are focused on care that translates to at-home changes – from preventive care physical exams to nutrition education and supervised exercise all based on a patient’s individual needs.

WHY:
Offering leading-edge healthcare – whether that is through lifesaving technologies or lifesaving education – is critical to caring for the whole patient. Renown’s new Wellness Network emphasizes the value of not only the patient and care provider relationship but also the education provided by medical professionals and how that education can positively impact a patient’s daily routine and therefore, their overall health.

As part of the Wellness Network, Renown is proud to introduce its new Healthy Heart Program which offers the first and only Pritikin Intensive Cardiac Rehab Program on the West Coast and just the 12th program in the U.S. as part of Pritikin’s rapid national expansion. The Pritikin Program is an internationally recognized lifestyle management program focused on nutrition, exercise and a healthy mindset. The nutrition plan focuses on eating fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Patients also receive individualized exercise regimens using state-of-the-art gym equipment specially made for heart patients. All Healthy Heart patients receive individual attention from a team of registered nurses, clinical exercise physiologists, registered dietitians and stress management specialists.

For those patients focused on preventive care, there are two more programs offered by the Wellness Network – Health Improvement Programs and the Executive Health Program. Executive Physicals are the highest level of preventive care. They include an in-depth personal and family health history interview with a board-certified physician and registered nurse, a comprehensive physical exam, thorough lab screening, electrocardiogram, hearing and vision tests, as well as analysis of vital signs, BMI and body fat. More advanced screenings including heart disease, cancer and genetic testing can also be added to fit your personal health needs.

The third branch of this new wellness center is Health Improvement Programs which help patients with weight management and nutrition education. Renown’s expert team of registered dietitians and certified educators will walk you through reading a nutrition label, balancing your meals, eating nutritiously every day, and can also help guide patients facing new dietary challenges such as food allergies.

The community is invited to come learn about these new services during our Wellness Network open house on Thursday, December 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. at 10085 Double R Boulevard, Medical Pavilion B.
