In 2018, the federal government revised regulations to allow associations to offer health insurance to their member businesses. These new association health plans (AHPs) allow small businesses to band together to obtain health care coverage as if they were a single large employer, according to the Department of Labor’s website. Businesses who belong to the Carson City or Carson Valley Chambers are now eligible for this benefit through the partnership with Hometown Health.
“We are excited to partner with business-orientated groups, like chambers of commerce, to bring their members affordable health care options,” said Racquel Abowd, Sales & Marketing Director for Hometown Health. “These high-quality association plans allow small business employers and sole proprietors access to premium pricing that is typically only available to large employer groups. The savings can really add up.”
