The partnership includes affiliations between Renown Health and Stanford Health Care, Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford and Stanford University School of Medicine and will open new doors for Nevada patients who need specialty care services. Patients and their families will have greater access to a broad range of highly specialized medical services provided by Stanford physicians, including the potential for clinical trials with Stanford researchers. Patient care will be fully coordinated between Renown and Stanford to ensure a seamless experience, which will improve care, access and services for patients in northern Nevada and the surrounding communities.
With this partnership, members of Renown's health insurance plan, Hometown Health, will now gain access to specialty care physicians and services at Stanford Health Care - one of the nation's leading academic medical centers. Plans also include expanded access via telemedicine that will allow even more families to receive care closer to home. In addition, academic affiliations between Renown and Stanford University School of Medicine will aim to increase the number of physician specialists receiving training and providing care in northern Nevada.
"We are really excited about this new partnership with Renown Health as we've seen an amazing evolution these last many years with Renown," said Christopher Dawes, president and CEO of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. "Renown is a comprehensive health network with particular expertise in population health, telemedicine and health insurance management that is serving the northern Nevada community well. Both of our organizations will gain knowledge from one other as we take this new journey together."
"Renown is taking a forward-thinking approach to health and healthcare," Slonim added. "By forging new partnerships, we will be able to connect patients and their loved ones with more resources critical to their care. As our community's independent, locally governed, not-for-profit health system, we are working diligently to build the healthcare network our region needs and establish the future of health our community deserves."
